we update Nommi app as often as possible to make it faster, more reliable and handy for you.

 

Here is what you can explore in the latest app update:

- Nommi bonus points can be used to buy data packages. Get 10 Nommi Points for adding new passwords to our database and use those points to buy data packages.

- Data Package usage, expiration and package volume information now can be found on the Home tab.

 

- 90 mins before your package expires, we will notify you via push notification.

- An automatic firmware update will keep your Nommi's firmware up to date, so there is no need to update it manually.

Dear backers,

we are back with some updates on Nommi which we’re happy to share with you!

 

What’s been improved:

- We’ve fixed firmware so now Nommi is able to connect to wi-fi networks that have special characters within their password;

- Now Nommi has coverage also in India, Bangladesh, Myanmar;

- Data usage history is properly reflected in “my account”;

- We’ve fixed a lot of minor bugs and errors in the app.

 

Please, when using Nommi, make sure you have the latest software & firmware versions:

Dear Backers,

our new improved application is out and available both in AppStore and Google Play. In this newsletter we’d also love to let you know what has been changed, what’s “in progress” now and take time to say THANK YOU to a number of amazing backers who helped us a lot during these 2 weeks.

 

What’s been fixed in the latest version

  1. You can now change Wi-Fi password in Aron manual - previously one needed to input password every time he connects to the network.

  2. You can now pay for data packages with AmEx cards - previously payments worked for VISA only.

  3. Connection status is now more informative. On the screenshots before - first shows status when your device is connected to Nommi and Nommi is connected to Wi-Fi; second - when Aron auto is turned on (which we recommend to do) and it’s searching for Wi-Fis nearby; third - when you’re connected to Nommi but there’s no internet; fourth - when there’s either sim card inside or you’ve bought a package, but there’s no internet, or if there’s internet - it’ll be shown with green sign + telco name.  

  4. Now you can see data packages you’ve bought on the home screen of the app even if there is no internet on Nommi - previously it wouldn’t be reflected.

  5. Json parse error” (for most of use cases) and a number of other annoying technical mistakes are fixed.

  6. You can easily understand if your firmware needs to be updated and we want to make it even easier - It is very important for your firmware to be updated. Please follow the flow outlined on the screenshots below to update your firmware. Meanwhile, we’re also working on adding push notifications so you don’t need to check if update is needed manually.

  

Planned improvements for upcoming week

- Provide more detailed data packages description/instructions;

- Add data packages’ traffic usage dynamic bar;

- Optimize data packages search;

- Make error messages clear to everyone (so we’re not reflecting highly technical message).

We’re especially thankful to Rachel, who’s brought up a brilliant solution about how to solve an issue for most US customers whose phone doesn’t see Nommi (we’d like to quote it below, though we’ll also send separate instructions for all the backers who’ve encountered this problem):

 

“The Nommi was defaulted to broadcasting the WiFi on auto for China, which goes up to channel 13, a channel not supported in the US (only up to 11 here). This made it invisible on my phone. I imagine this will likely be an issue for most US customers if every Nommi device is defaulted this way.”
