Dear backers!

First of all, thank you very much for supporting our project! Over the time that this campaign has lasted, we have made a lot of tangible progress that is hard to ignore. We have moved from just a prototype to the mass-produced Nommis! And that would not have been possible without your support! So thanks again!

Now, there are some backers that are worried they will not receive their perks and ask for a refund. Unfortunately, we cannot refund any of the perks at the moment because this money is used for the manufacturing of your devices. In this context, I would like to remind you that delays are a commonplace for a crowdfunding campaign because the manufacturing starts only after the funds are raised. 

Another issue is that some of the backers feel scammed by the Nommi campaign because of the delay. As much as we understand how you must be feeling, the best thing we can do to fix this situation is to speed up the process while retaining high quality. We are already doing it! 

Now the update, 

As you remember from the previous update, the first golden sample revealed a few issues that needed fixing. Since the last update we did the following:

1. Sourced all the components that needed fixing: antennas, LED lights and etc. 
2. Produced the second golden sample 

Our Chinese partners will send out the second golden sample in the next 2-3 days and we will receive it sometime between 14th and 18th of January. As soon as we test it and confirm that this golden sample is fully functional, our Chinese partners will assemble the Nommis and ship them out to you. 

However, there is a complication: Chinese New Year, Spring Festival and etc. All the workers in China will go on a long holiday that, in practice, will last for 3-4 weeks. This is why we predict the assembly and shipping to happen at the end of February and the beginning of March.

Dear backers!

Happy holidays!  

As you remember from the previous update we have received the Nommi golden sample. Overall, the quality of the device is good: plastic quality is high and all the elements work properly. But we have found several issues that needed fixing:

1. the Power version did not pass the drop test;
2. LED lights were too bright;
3. the sim holders were not easy to insert and take out.

To optimize all these things on the ground together with our Chinese manufacturing team, Nommi’s CTO Aituar went to the factory in Shenzhen. On top of optimizing those three issues, our team improved the following:

1. Installed a pinhole for resetting. It means that if for some reason, your device is not responding or not functioning properly you will be able to relaunch it;
2. Optimized the charging and introduced the lower power mode to the device. Now the Qi charger will automatically turn off if you are not using it for more than 30 seconds. It will save you a ton of charge, and Nommi will be always ready to use when you actually need it;
3. Changed the battery protection board and the interior structure of the device so the antennas will work better and signal reception will be much more adequate;
4. Introduced the overheat prevention to the device so that your Nommi will be more durable and safe.  

This means that we have to adjust our timeline and test the optimized golden sample for possible bugs. As soon as we do, we will get back to you with the more accurate shipping dates, but we don’t expect any major delays.

Dear Backers!

We have got some awesome news for you!

First of all, as we are approaching the final stage of our production, we would like to thank each and every one of you for being so cool and backing our project!

Second of all, we have finished assembling the golden sample! We are very excited because we are about to hold the final round of tests. Moreover, circuit boards, molds, batteries, USB cables, boxes, and other components are all set and ready for the action. If everything works out, our team will approve the Nommis for mass production. It means that if everything goes smoothly, we will ship your shiny new devices according to our schedule!

As we are finishing up our product, we need to make sure your shipping information is correct.

This is why kindly ask you to take the following steps:

- Check whether your delivery address at the BackerKit.com is correct.

- For those, who did NOT complete the survey on the BackerKit platform, please fill it out.
- If you would like to change your delivery address do so on the BackerKit platform.

- If you have never filled out the survey (shipping address and etc.) at the BackerKit, let us know, we will send you the link.

Hi, everyone! 

Here we go again with the latest update on Nommi: we have made some progress with molding, finished sim holders production, worked on battery certifications, sourced components for the 4G main PCBA, and did some Dual WiFi and Guest WiFi optimization and debugging.

You can find more details on our progress below:

MOLDING AND CASING:

- We have produced our T0 case using the new molds, and will make       some small corrections to them.

- Additionally, we have made our final decision about the color and texture of the plastic that we are going to use in the casing.

COMPONENTS AND ELECTRONICS:

- Sim holders for Nommi are all ready to be used in the devices. As you remember from the last update, we started the mass production of sim holders and now we have completed the production.  

- We have sourced the components for our 4G main PCBA and will have a small trial batch of 50 pieces for the Slim model by the end of this week.

- Also, we have finished battery MSDS and UN38.3 certification for Nommi Slim and started certifying the batteries for Nommi Power.  

SOFTWARE:

- We have done some debugging and optimization for the Dual WiFi feature.

- We also have installed the Guest WiFi feature. As you remember, the Guest WiFi feature allows users to separate and limit data usage of the guest devices, connected to you Nommi wifi network.
